Story text

Here's another issue on the good old red-light cameras in Elk Grove Village.

I was driving to work and at Biesterfield Road and Route 53 I had the arrow to turn right heading east onto Biesterfield. I'm doing my thing, and as I'm turning some yahoo decides to make a U-turn the same time as I'm turning right on my green arrow.

No accident occurred, thank goodness, so I called the Elk Grove police to complain, and what does the cop say? It's not illegal! Well, neither is alcohol, and it kills.

This U-turn almost caused an accident! That will cause an accident more than not coming to a complete stop before turning right on a red!

What's up with that?
