Jan. 23, 1972: His first documented arrest, for burglary, at 15. Court supervision.
Dec. 8, 1972: Burglarized a KFC in Aurora. Made off with at least $4,000, fled to Florida and Iowa, where suspected of more break-ins.
Feb. 19, 1973: Vandalized an Aurora middle school. Pleaded guilty to burglary. Suspended jail term.
Spring 1973: Three other burglaries to Kane County private schools. Imprisoned.
April 1, 1974: Burglarized an Aurora restaurant. He was 17.
April 21, 1974: Grabbed and scratched a 10-year-old girl in Lisle after asking her directions to a train station. Case dropped.
Spring 1974: Aurora burglary.
Oct. 4, 1974: Accused of trying to kick out squad car window and resisting a police officer during an arrest for sniffing glue.
July 29, 1975: Ignited an arson fire at Lincoln Elementary School in Villa Park.
July 30, 1975: Attacked his sister and vandalized her car.
Jan. 30, 1977: Burglarized two Aurora churches.
Jan. 18,1977: Abducted, sexually assaulted and threatened to kill an Elmhurst teacher before she escaped. He was never caught, but confessed years later.
May 1978: Burglarized a DuPage County home.
April 1979: Kane County burglary.
Aug. 23, 1982: Attacked a 22-year-old clerk at an Aurora gas station. Case dropped.
Feb. 25, 1983: Abducted, raped and murdered 10-year-old Naperville schoolgirl Jeanine Nicarico.
March 18-19, 1983: Burglarized an Addison business and struck a police officer. Case dropped.
Nov. 7, 1983: Beat, raped and robbed an Aurora prostitute. He was never charged, but confessed years later.
July 15, 1984: Abducted, raped and drowned 27-year-old Geneva nurse Donna Schnorr, whose body was found in a Kane County quarry.
May 6, 1985: Abducted a 21-year-old woman in North Aurora and sexually assaulted her.
May 28, 1985: Tried to force a 19-year-old Geneva woman into his car, but she escaped.
May 29, 1985: Raped a 16-year-old girl after abducting her in Aurora. She survived.
June 2, 1985: Abducted 7-year-old Melissa Ackerman in Somonauk, raped her, and dumped her body in a creek in LaSalle County.
