All work shall be performed by a Contractor with at least seven (7) years of documented experience in performing similar work and shall be able to demonstrate their knowledge in the field. 4.Subcontracting of Work: The Owner reserves the right to disallow and/or to reject any Bidder or subcontractor who, in the opinion of the Engineer, does not have adequate experience, personnel or equipment to perform the work in a timely, efficient and satisfactory manner. 5.Wages of Employees: Not less than the prevailing rate of wages as found by the Department of Labor or determined by a court on review shall be paid to all laborers, workers and mechanics performing work under this contract. 6.Rejection of Bids: The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and bidders and to waive technicalities. Factors other than price which will be considered in awarding or rejecting bids shall include the results of reference contracts, and the quality of the bidders' performance on prior Village projects, if any, in the judgment of the Village Board and Village staff. 7.Location of Work: The work is located within the Village of Long Grove property along Schaefer and Checker Roads immediately north and south of Checker Road in the Village of Long Grove, Lake County, Illinois. 8.Description of Work: The work for which proposals are invited will consist of, in general, but shall not be limited to, the following: Construction of approximately 997 lineal feet of pedestrian path and associated features. 9.Bid Security: Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, Bank Cashier's Check or Certified Check for five percent (5%) of the total bid made payable to the Village of Long Grove shall accompany the bid. 10.Owner: Village of Long Grove 11.Construction Schedule: The Village is expected to award this contract at a regularly scheduled Board meeting on April 14, 2015. The Contractor shall begin the work to be performed under the contract not later than ten working days after the execution of the contract. The work shall be prosecuted in such a manner and with such a supply of materials, equipment and labor as is considered necessary to ensure its completion according to the time specified in the contract. The Contractor shall complete the work on or before July 31, 2015 as described in Article 108.04 of the Standard Specifications. In case of failure to complete the work on time, the provisions of Article 108.09 of the Standard Specifications or other applicable BDE Special Provisions shall apply. 12.This project is partially funded by an Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Grant Number 10-203906.
